The notable uplift in brand value was driven by the successful execution of its M25+ strategy, which focused on customer-centric initiatives, digital innovation, and sustainability. The brand also has maintained its AAA brand strength rating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>CIMB<\/strong> (brand value up 20% to USD2.5 billion) climbed 10 places to rank 124th globally. The brand\u2019s commendable performance can be attributed to robust loan growth, a strong client franchise, and solid trading income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside Maybank and CIMB Group, <strong>RHB Bank<\/strong> (brand value up 15% to USD916 million) has also achieved double-digit growth in brand value this year. This is driven by a significant increase in both net fund-based and non-fund-based income, as well as the success of its \u2018Together We Progress 24 (TWP24)\u2019 corporate strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Standing as the sole fully Islamic Malaysian bank in the rankings, <strong>Bank Islam<\/strong> (brand value up 10% to USD237 million) experienced growth primarily driven by a rise in investment securities, as well as increase in consumer and commercial financing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Alex Haigh, Managing Director, Asia-Pacific at Brand Finance, <\/strong>commented:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><em><em><em>\"<em>Malaysia\u2019s banking sector is experiencing impressive brand value growth, with an overall 25% increase driven by strong performances from its leading banks. <strong>Maybank<\/strong>\u2019s rise reflects the success of its M25+ strategy, while <strong>CIMB <\/strong>and <strong>RHB Bank<\/strong> have also strengthened their positions through robust loan growth and strategic initiatives. Meanwhile, <strong>Bank Islam<\/strong> saw an increase in brand value, propelled by its strategic investment portfolio, establishing it as the sole fully Islamic Malaysian bank in the global rankings. These performances from Malaysia\u2019s leading banking institutions highlight the resilience and adaptability of the nation\u2019s banking sector.\u201d<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, other Malaysian banking brands featured in the Banking 500 2025 are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Public Bank <\/strong>(brand value up 8% to USD1.6 billion)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hong Leong Financial <\/strong>(brand value down 10% to USD550 million)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>AmBank <\/strong>(brand value down 16% to USD322 million)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bank Rakyat <\/strong>(brand value down 13% to USD279 million)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Banking Industry Global Insights&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>total brand value of the world\u2019s 500 most valuable banking brands has surged by 13% year-on-year to reach USD1.6 trillion<\/strong>, marking the first double-digit increase in four years. This follows two years of sluggish 2% brand value growth and reflects the banking sector's ability to sustain momentum despite market volatility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chinese banking brands continue to dominate the ranking, with <strong>ICBC (Industrial and Commercial Bank of China) retaining its position as the most valuable banking brand in the world for the ninth consecutive year<\/strong>, growing 10% to USD79.1 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UK neobank <strong>Revolut is the fastest-growing banking brand globally<\/strong>, with a <strong>795% increase in brand value to USD1.9 billion<\/strong>, driven by strong revenue growth, customer expansion, and significant marketing investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indonesia\u2019s <strong>BCA retains its title as the world\u2019s strongest banking brand<\/strong>, with a <strong>BSI score of 97.1\/100<\/strong> and an elite AAA+ rating.
