Over half of this increase is attributed to the top two brands, <strong>BDO<\/strong> and <strong>Bank of the Philippine Islands<\/strong>, according to the latest Banking 500 2025 journal by Brand Finance, the world\u2019s leading brand valuation consultancy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BDO<\/strong> (brand value up 48% to USD3.7 billion) rose 23 positions to secure 94th place, making it to the top 100 among global banking brands for the first time. This surge was driven by its increase in customer loans while improved customer satisfaction was led by innovations such as sustained branch expansion, digital investments to improve product accessibility, and core business growth. Additionally, BDO recorded a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 91.5\/100 and a AAA+ brand strength rating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>Bank of the Philippine Islands<\/strong> (brand value up 53% to USD2.3 billion) surged 26 places to rank 128th among the world\u2019s 500 most valuable banks. This strong performance was fuelled by higher loan-related revenue and asset growth. With a slight increase in its BSI score to 83.7\/100, the brand has maintained its AAA- brand strength rating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Alex Haigh, Managing Director, Asia-Pacific at Brand Finance, <\/strong>commented:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><em><em><em>\"<em><em>The Philippines\u2019 banking sector is experiencing extraordinary brand value growth, outpacing all other APAC markets. <strong>BDO<\/strong>\u2019s ascent into the global top 100 and <strong>Bank of the Philippine Islands<\/strong>\u2019 significant rise highlight the sector\u2019s resilience and strategic focus on customer engagement and financial inclusion.\u201d<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, other notable banking brands from Philippines in the Banking 500 2025 are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Metrobank <\/strong>(brand value up 14% to USD1.4 billion)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Land Bank of the Philippines <\/strong>(new entrant brand value at USD1.3 billion)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>UnionBank <\/strong>(brand value up 9% to USD743 million)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Philippine National Bank<\/strong> (brand value up 43% to USD409 million)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Security Bank<\/strong> (brand value up 18% to USD405 million)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Chinabank <\/strong>(brand value down 16% to USD293 million)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>RCBC<\/strong> (brand value down 9% to USD241 million)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>EastWest Bank<\/strong> (brand value down 1% to USD196 million)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Banking Industry Global Insights&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>total brand value of the world\u2019s 500 most valuable banking brands has surged by 13% year-on-year to reach USD1.6 trillion<\/strong>, marking the first double-digit increase in four years. This follows two years of sluggish 2% brand value growth and reflects the banking sector's ability to sustain momentum despite market volatility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chinese banking brands continue to dominate the ranking, with <strong>ICBC (Industrial and Commercial Bank of China) retaining its position as the most valuable banking brand in the world for the ninth consecutive year<\/strong>, growing 10% to USD79.1 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UK neobank <strong>Revolut is the fastest-growing banking brand globally<\/strong>, with a <strong>795% increase in brand value to USD1.9 billion<\/strong>, driven by strong revenue growth, customer expansion, and significant marketing investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indonesia\u2019s <strong>BCA retains its title as the world\u2019s strongest banking brand<\/strong>, with a <strong>BSI score of 97.1\/100<\/strong> and an elite AAA+ rating.
